National player Sacha De Alwis returned to local cricket after almost a year away and immediately stamped his class on proceedings.
Warming up on Saturday representing his old Schools team, De Alwis made 85 runs against Chillies as the Schools team collected its first victory. Sunday was even better as De Alwis turned up in full force with an excellent all round performance.
De Alwis picked up 6 wickets and scored 48 runs as Greenies walked over the Prisons team.
Over at the Jimmy Powell Oval, By Rite continued to collect the points heading the Division 1 table easily defeating Police by 9 wickets.
The clash of the companies saw Paramount versus Supermix in the feature match. Batting first Supermix made 227 for 3 wickets with Pearson Best, Kervin Ebanks, Garth Bryan and Devon Williams the chief scorers. Paramount got off to the best start of the season with Paul Manning and Donald Carter putting on 160 runs. Supermix kept the pressure on and victory was sealed by a hat trick from Kervin Ebanks.
Over on Cayman Brac, the home team provided a big upset victory defeating Greenies Too by 6 wickets. Sahadeo Sohan was left 2 runs short of a well-deserved century (98n.o) at the victory point.
In the Women League it was Panthers defeating Islanders by 69 runs. Wyvonne Forbes blasted her way to 52 runs as Panthers scored 157 for 5 wickets. Islanders folded easily against the new bowling style of Desrene Cox who had excellent bowling figures of 3 wickets for 4 runs.
